Wish I could have been at that meeting….

Today I welcomed a new addition to the family!  Don’t get too excited, Mom – the adoption took place at a thrift store.  You know, I’ve gotten some of my favorite things at a thrift store, so I wouldn’t rule out getting a kid there!

Anyway, back to the new addition.  My small family of “ceranimals” got a new sister today.  These aren’t just any ceramic animals, though – they are the oddest figurines I’ve ever seen rendered in ceramic.  Here’s Lorenzo; he started the trend.

Can you imagine the meeting at the ceramics company when the guy pitched the ceramic llama idea?  A group of people all got together and decided it would be a good idea to produce these things!  Maybe they were competing with the company that produced Artie, the next addition to the family.

Don’t tell the others, but Artie the Anteater is kind of my favorite.  Lorenzo wins in the size department, but Artie’s points in the Just Plain Weird department clinch the victory for him.  I hope Petunia, the new girl, will be able to hold her own!

A pelican!?!  Really!?!  A ceramic pelican.  I’m sure you can understand why I couldn’t leave her behind.  Everyone seems to be adjusting well and I’m sure they’ll spend many happy years together.

Before you call the men in the white coats (do people say that anymore?), I know they’re not real.  But they do look happy, don’t they?  I love how Lorenzo sorta looks at you sidelong.  He’s chill like that.  The white spots on the table are something I should have mentioned in yesterday’s post – when you are stenciling fabric, protect your table top!

Thanks for stopping by for a peek at the pitter patter of pelican podiatry!  We’re registered at Pelicans R Us.

    1. I wholeheartedly agree – I’m keeping my eyes open for the next member of the herd. I’m hoping for a three-toed sloth but I’ll settle for a platypus!
